TheatreSports™ Classes and Corporate Events
What is TheatreSports™
TheatreSports™ is a form of competitive improvisational theatre in which teams of performers create spontaneous scenes, games, and stories based on audience suggestions, with judges awarding points for each scene. The format was developed by the late Keith Johnstone.
The magic of this art form exists in the wonder and thrill of 'being completely in the moment', in the tangible anticipation shared by both audience and performers, of what could possibly happen next. It's about beholding 'brilliant minds in panic' and experiencing the magical exchange that occurs when offers are accepted and graciously extended. It's about watching something come from nothing and experiencing the act of creation. It's about the deep belly laughs that come, not only from the funny moments but also from the moments of unexpected wonder and delight.

OVERVIEW OF 2026 CLASSES
In 2026, Quench Theatre will be offering TheatreSports™ classes in various locations and to various age groups, on the Central Coast. These classes are designed to nurture and develop performance and improvisational skills within a supportive and creative environment.
Current classes on offer

These classes will dive into the world of competitive improvisation and teach the skills and games of TheatreSports™. Students attending these class will also have the opportunity to represent GPCC in the TheatreSports™ School’s Challenge which is hosted annually by Impro Australia.
In Term 2, GPCC submitted a senior team (Years 11 and 12) into the TSC and the students performed brilliantly in both the heat and the semi finals, (the latter was held in Sydney, see pics below). In Term 4 there will be an opportunity for the Year 5 and 6 students to be part of the primary division of the TSC and for the Year 7and 8 students to be part of the junior division.
